What is Hand Therapy?

Hand therapy is the management of injuries and disorders of the hand and wrist using non-surgical methods.

You may need to see a hand therapist following an injury, postoperatively or if you are suffering with pain.

 Treatment may involve:

  • Exercise therapy e.g. stretching, strengthening.
  • Neural mobilisation
  • Splinting
  • Postoperative care including scar management
  • Restoration of hand function
  • Acupuncture
  • Electrotherapies
  • Swelling management
  • Soft tissue massage
  • Joint mobilisations

 Conditions/Injuries treated include:
